Not long ago, you were able to get the Mexican residency with a monthly income of $1 000 USD / month, this number has now skyrocketed to $2 600 USD / month.

After doing some research, here are some alternatives to Mexico, for you to consider.

🇪🇨 Ecuador – one of the easiest visas to get, in the world 🌎

Ecuador Retiree Visa Requirements

To qualify for the Ecuadorian retiree visa, you need to be able to prove that you can get $800,00 / month for the rest of your life (pensions, etc.).

Ecuador Professional Visa Requirements

To qualify for the professional visa, all you really need is a university degree or higher.

Ecuador Investor Visa Requirements

To qualify for this visa, you need to fulfill one of the following:

• Own shares in an Ecuadorian company that’s worth at least $10 000
• Deposit $40,000 in an Ecuadorian bank
• Own a home in Ecuador that’s worth at least $80,000 (compare this to $350 000 in Mexico)

🇵🇦 Panama Visa Requirements

Retiree Visa

To qualify for a retiree visa in Panama, you must have a stable income of $1 000 / month for the rest of your life.

Investor Visa

To qualify for the investor visa, you need shares shares in a Panamanian corporation that’s worth at least $160 000

Economic Solvency Visa

You need to either deposit money into a Panamanian bank account OR buy property OR the combination of the two, as long as the total amount is worth at least $300 000

🇨🇷 Costa Rica Visa Requirements

Retiree Visa

To qualify for the retiree visa, you must prove an income of $1 000 / month that you will continue receiving for rest of your life AND you will be required to visit Costa Rica at least once / year

Investor Visa Requirements

To qualify for the investor visa, you must own $200 000 or more in real estate or business.

🇧🇿 Belize Visa Requirements

Retiree Visa

Be at least 45 years of age and prove your ability to deposit $2 000 / month into a Belizean bank account. You do need to prove your deposits every year to continue benefitting from the visa.

This visa comes with interesting tax incentives, as for starters, you can import almost everything you own, duty free. If you do get this visa, you will receive a permanent exemption from the Belizean taxes including income tax, capital gain tax, import taxes, etc.

** One restriction – this visa prevents you from applying for a work visa in Belize.

🇵🇹 Portugal Visa Requirements
